Frequently Asked Questions
Container transport and lifting questions
What types of containers can you transport?
We handle enquiries for shipping and storage containers in different sizes. Suitability depends on the container dimensions, total weight, contents, lifting requirements and access at both sites.
What details do you need to provide a quote?
Please provide the container size, approximate total weight, whether it is empty or loaded, collection and delivery postcodes, preferred date, access details and photographs where possible.
Can you lift the container at collection and delivery?
Our HIAB vehicles can provide lifting where suitable. This depends on the container weight, crane reach, ground conditions, overhead restrictions and safe vehicle access at both locations.
Can you transport a loaded container?
Loaded-container movements can be considered, but we need an accurate total weight and details of the contents. The load must be suitable and secure for lifting and road transport.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Ayrshire and cover suitable container transport jobs across Scotland and the wider UK. Send both postcodes and we can confirm availability.
Need a container lifted and moved?
Tell the R & L Miller transport team about the container, where it needs collected and where it is going. We will assess the lifting, transport and access requirements and get back to you.
